I created a set of custom spot illustrations for the educational vignettes produced by Prudential Financial.
The focus was to create imagery that is safe and secure, and had relatability in helping an audience understand complex financial terms.
Using a proverb-like, metaphor style, I used abstract terms related to economics and produced simple concepts with relatable imagery that had meaning with their reader. I worked primarily in Illustrator and Photoshop, selecting and developing a consistent visual language that concealed the simply intended purpose behind these illustrations, but still had a comfort level and tone representative of Prudential’s brand.
Incorporated into Prudential’s digital platforms, the illustrations made Prudential’s digital content more visually interesting and readable. We had replaced generic stock photography with a graphic style of illustration that artistically creates audience trust in Prudential, and also suggests something special, pleasing, and memorable.
